AnchorCo has been selling anchors and fastening products to professional construction workers and DIYers since 2004. Although they distribute the best products, their Magento website wasn’t presenting them as the best option. Bounce rates were over 50% due to the poor buyers’ journey and cluttered homepage design. The website was not mobile-friendly, which impacted it’s ranking on search engines and, of course, user behavior. AnchorCo needed to enhance user experience and have a search-optimized website, which is where we come in.
We created a high-quality user experience to match the high-quality products being sold. Starting with a welcoming hero that showcases the product photography and brand messaging that brings users to an intuitive product filtering system, and ends with a seamless (and secure) check out process. AnchorCo doubled their average monthly revenue in 60 days and the bounce rate decreased to 18%. Organic transactions increased by 225%, and these numbers are improving every month.
We implemented a search engine optimization strategy so AnchorCo could stay on top of their competitors. Five months post-launch, the total keywords that the site was ranking for increased by 191%, and page one terms increased by 134%. We did not want to lose any valuable traffic so we set up redirects to all backlinks, and referral transactions increased by 3800%. Organic sessions increased by 325%.
The shopping experience on AnchorCo.com is now much more approachable. Even with a product catalog that’s 3x larger than the old site because the new Shopify website is able to support their entire product catalog; including multiple variations per product, in some cases, for their custom-order professional products.
While changing a 15 year old website up from what loyal customers are used to can be a tough decision to make, it’s an update that must be made as long as it’s a step in the right direction for usability, security, and shopper experience.
