Have dreams of starting a business but don’t know how to get started? We are hosting a three-part free webinar titled Entrepreneurship Boot Camp targeted towards students with digital marketing and entrepreneurship aspirations. Boot Camp runs June 23-25, each session will be 1-2 hours. If you have time this summer and are seeking an opportunity to learn something new, this webinar will provide you with knowledge on the basics of entrepreneurship.

Students are encouraged to sign up for all three events to gain the most knowledge of starting up a business, but they have the option to sign up for individual sessions based on their interests. Each session is geared towards beginners who have little to no experience in web development, marketing, and perfect for students who are interested in starting their own business to pursue a career in digital marketing.

Part 1 Stories from the Entrepreneurs takes place on June 23 at 12:30 PM and features a panel of entrepreneurs. We will be joined by Chris Meade- co-founder of CROSSNET, four square meets volleyball. One day, while reminiscing about recess with his brother and childhood friend, they came up with the idea to divide volleyball into four quadrants and created a prototype. Today, CROSSNET is a majorly successful business and the game can be found on their Shopify store and in retailers like Walmart and Dick’s Sporting Goods. To learn more, check out our podcast with Chris. The panel will also include Nataliya Lalor, professional photographer, and owner of N. Lalor Photography. Nataliya studied graphic design. While working in graphic design, photography became her side hustle. The mother of two turned her hobby into a business. Knowing she wasn’t going to become successful overnight, Nataliya took the steps to grow, learn, and build her connections.

These entrepreneurs know what it takes to build up a successful business. Students will hear their stories and a Q&A session will be held at the end of the session.

Part 2 Creating your Website will be on June 24 at 12:30 PM. This session will be hosted by our own Aniel Samaroo, COO. This session is geared towards creating a platform for your business. Aniel will discuss what platform your website should be built on based on your business model. Students will learn the basics of Wix and Shopify, as well as the components it takes to launch a successful website like a site-map, choosing fonts, and creating copy. These platforms allow users to create a website with little to no coding required. This session will also conclude with a Q&A session.

Part 3 Marketing your Business wraps up the webinar series on Thursday, June 25 at 12:30 PM. Hosted by our own Morgan Hennesey, Manager of Search Marketing. Morgan will introduce attendees to search engine optimization and social media marketing – the essentials to getting your business found on the web. Students will learn how to get started with SEO, how to set up Google Analytics and what you should use it for, and how to set up a Facebook and Instagram ad campaign.

Attending all three sessions will make students well rounded and set them up with the knowledge to launch their own business. With COVID-19, unfortunately, canceling many internships across the country, our webinar still provides students with the opportunity to learn new skills and have the time to start launching their business this summer.
