Why You Should Use Chatbots on Your Website

00:13 Noel Lopez: Yeah, I figured. So today we're actually going to be talking about chat bots for your eCommerce website.
00:17 Aniel Samaroo: Yeah, you know what a chat bot is. It's a program application that can emulate a human via chat messaging, so your input is chat, and you talk to the bot.
00:26 Noel Lopez: Exactly. You can use that across multiple different platforms. You can do it across Facebook, Slack, even integrate that within your own website.
00:33 Aniel Samaroo: Yeah, and on your website some examples would be Intercom and Drift, or if you want to go hardcore and build your own, you can use something like Botman, which you'll need a developer, somebody hardcore, and you can call us or call somebody else, but that one's a little more advanced.
00:45 Noel Lopez: A little more advanced, but that leads us into why chat bots.
00:48 Aniel Samaroo: Yep.
00:49 Noel Lopez: Chat bots are a great opportunity for you to really have a customer team that's always available 24/7, 365 days a year, gives them the opportunity to get a quick, easy answer.
00:59 Aniel Samaroo: Yeah. In fact, I know I use it. I know definitely Noel uses it. What we've seen is that 71% of people prefer to use the bot via calling on the phone, waiting, doing stuff, because it's typically small issues that they have, right? Simple questions that can be answered for the majority of things. Not everything, but it feels like a majority of people are leaning that way. They'd rather get their answers that fast.
01:18 Noel Lopez: Yeah, and chat bots can do a lot more than just customer service.
01:22 Aniel Samaroo: Yeah, sure.
01:22 Noel Lopez: They can track inventory, can suggest products to your consumers, and even notify them of new products that have come in.
01:28 Aniel Samaroo: Yeah, so if that's not reason enough, how can it help your business? Well, it can help get the message out. The open rate for a bot messages versus email is drastic. It's 60 to 95% for a bot message versus 10 to 25% on email.
01:41 Noel Lopez: Yeah, so huge gap right there, and one other area it can really help you in is hyper personalization.

01:48 Noel Lopez: We're seeing a huge shift towards that and we'll actually be covering that and following videos, but really what it allows you to do is chat bots can collect information that's relevant to that specific user and then serve them products based off that information that they're getting. With that, we see that there's actually a 33% increase in them purchasing again.
02:05 Aniel Samaroo: Crazy, yeah. Very useful, very, very easy to get into. At least start with your Facebook bot. You can do that. Everybody has a Facebook page. Maybe that'll get your feet wet and you can see how easy it is and useful it really is.
