Shopify Website Design & Development

Porch+Hall

Preparing a startup ecommerce business for growth with a Shopify store front.

Porch+Hall began with one goal in mind: develop beautifully designed, functional doormats – a missing piece in the interior design world their founder discovered after many years of running her own interior design company.

After two years of prototype after prototype, The Outsider and The Insider were created. The next step was to get these unique doormats in front of their target audience, homeowners who want durable yet stylish doormats and interior rugs to grace their home without sacrificing design. This goal would be met with a functional ecommerce website that served the appropriate audience and showcased their merchandise as the premium products that they are.

Shopify was the best ecommerce CMS for a design-conscious brand that needed an on-brand, custom storefront. It began with a sleek page design that went hand in hand with a luxury brand like Porch+Hall. While consistent brand design is important, so is the brand voice. We carefully crafted the site copy to fit the luxury brand that Porch+Hall wanted to build. After all, this isn’t just an ecommerce website build – we were tasked to help build a brand, as well.

We sought out the best third-party Shopify apps that aligned with the business’ workflow, would fit a small business owners’ needs, and prioritized automation. By doing this, we were able to streamline internal processes, order fulfillment, CRM capabilities, and marketing for Porch+Hall all through their Shopify dashboard. This, along with setting up a 3PL, prepares this startup business for success during growth.

It’s not an ecommerce site without gorgeous photography, is it? Product photography was captured 100% in-house. We scouted locations across Westchester, NY for designer friendly homes with captivating entryways, planned exterior shots to work with the sun’s location for each property, managed (dog) talent, and all the other day-of logistics, table-top product photography, as well as the shooting, editing, retouching, and optimizing for the site.

With all the tools Porch+Hall needs for ecommerce success in hand – onbrand photography, a great shopper experience, and a custom Shopify store built for growth, their start up business is well prepared for success.
